“I had a lot to say and illustrate in this painting…
First, in the background, on wood, there are re-glued tears. Literally with the paper, as well as figuratively. Outstretched hands, grasping hands, troubled eyes, but directed toward the surface, all intertwined.
And the message tattooed for life: Let Hope Rise.
Its name is a song by Dear Evan Hensen, which pretty much sums up what I painted.
This is the first time I've had tears in my eyes at my easel. I hope it touches you, as it touched me during its creation!
