The Collectif Sentinelle, a citizen initiative organized by Yann Lemieux, was designed to bring people together around the cause of suicide prevention through art.
The event took place from May 10 to 24, 2024, with an opening reception bringing together 15 committed Canadian artists.
More than 20 original works of art were created for the occasion. From medium to large format, the exhibition showcased local talent through painting, sculpture, and a variety of captivating subjects.
In addition, thanks to the valuable participation of 100 Opinions Podcast and 35mm Productions , this collective gave life to a very enriching podcast, in which Yann Lemieux exchanged with speakers specializing in suicide prevention on several taboo aspects related to this theme. Benefiting from the expertise of Alexandra Loranger and Steve Auger, this podcast allowed the discussion to extend beyond the exhibition, exploring in particular the emotional and social aspects linked to suicide, the reality of the speakers who work in this field and those of people bereaved by suicide.

The event also launched an online collection, allowing a wider audience to acquire works while supporting the cause, thus extending the impact of the physical exhibition.
A portion of the profits from the sales of this exhibition was donated to the Quebec Suicide Prevention Center Foundation (CPSQ) . Thanks to this initiative, $1,400 was raised to support the efforts of this organization.
The CPSQ offers, in the greater Quebec City region, a range of professional and specialized services aimed at prevention, intervention and postvention for suicidal people, their loved ones and bereaved people.
